A new sailing club in Beijing

It was a great surprise to discover a brand new sailing club located at the Beijing Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park in Shun Yi, Beijing. New Scandinavian Cruiser 20 classic one-design day-boat launched in Xiamen, China

I have now been sailing the Scandinavian Cruiser 20 for two warm and sunny days on November 25/26 with light wind of 5-10 knots in Xiamen, China. The water and air temperature was around 25C (80F). I wish sailing could be like this every day!So how does she sail?In many ways she feels like a big dinghy, with fast acceleration in a puff, turns on a dime, light on the tiller, etc, but in other ways she is like a keel boat, with good forgiving stability from the deep bulb keel. Sailing is a Corinthian sport

Only a few years ago nobody believed that China would be able to join the America's Cup. The participation and involvement is yet another testament to the fact that China will continue to surprise and contribute to the world of sports and culture, as well as China has already done in commerce.



Sailing is fundamentally a Corinthian sport, and good sportsmanship and friendly competition among nations is more important than winning.
